Taiwan has a lot of beautiful places especially the ones in the province.  This is not the first time that I have been to Taiwan but we usually only visit Taipei City.  This time around we decided to go to Taichung for a day tour.

The first place that we checked out for Taichung Day Tour was of course Klook.  There was a lot to choose from but it does not have the itinerary that we were looking for plus it is shared and we have to travel to Taichung by bullet train because the meeting point of the tour is in Taichung.


Unlike the private tour, they can fetch us at the hotel. and we can create our own itinerary and got recommendations from the guide as well.  For 3 persons, the rate is NT7,000 for a whole day.  We were able to choose our own itinerary and got recommendations from the guide as well.  Entrance fees or any other expenses you might incur are not included in the NT7,000.

Don't get me wrong.  Klook is still a good choice especially to those who would want to experience the bullet train and who do not want to worry about payment since Klook accepts credit cards and is in your own currency.  The private tour only accepts cash and of course, it is in NT (Taiwan Dollar).  When we computed the price between Klook and the private tour, it is almost the same.  We had to do some conversion because we want to see the total expenses in our own currency.

Below is our itinerary for the day.  Take note that Taichung is far from Taipei.  It took us almost 3 hours before we reach Taichung.  We left Taipei at around 8:00AM.
 
1. 中社観光花市 ( Zhongshe Flower Farm )

Price: NT 280 per person unlimited barbecue with free entrance to the farm
          NT 120 per person entrance to the farm only



Want to have great looking photos for Instagram?  Then you must definitely include this in your itinerary.  We spent hours trying to perfect shot and to avoid "photo bombers".  A word of warning though, if you are planning to go during the summer season make sure to put on lots of sunscreen.  We ignored the sun because we didn't really felt that hot and when we went back, our skin was so red we looked like lobsters.  You will see below, lots of photo-taking the opportunity from every angle of the farm.














We purchased the unlimited barbecue ticket so the entrance fee to the farm.  This ticket is much better because, after all the "posing", we got hungry.  I think we ate at around 1pm already.  They only have a limited selection of food but what I like best is their pork chop and especially their sweet potato.  After roasting the sweet potato, it got a bit burned but the inside is similar to mashed that we ate 3 pieces of eat in one sitting.





*Fruit Stand at the Road Side

Now, this is not really planned, we just saw a fruit stand at the roadside selling Lychees.  My sisters love Lychees that they ask if we could stop at the fruit stand.  They not only sell Lychees but Watermelons as well and they are really BIG Watermelons.




2. 新社莊園 ( Summit Resort )

Price: NT 250 per person


The first time I saw this place, I was so amazed.  I don't think I have ever been to a place like this before.  It comes close to going to Europe which I very much wanted to go but don't have enough funds.  You would want to walk and take pictures of every angle.  You might think that it is very big but you could tour the whole area in just a few hours unless of course, you want to walk leisurely then it might take a while.  Second, to the Flower Farm, this is also another perfect Instagram moment.








3. 彩虹眷村 ( Rainbow Village )

Price: No entrance fee.

Out of all the places that we visited that day, Rainbow Village is the one that I regretted going to.  Unless you are an artsy person, then I wouldn't suggest you go here.  The village is small and there is really not much to see.  Just endless paintings on walls.








4. 家樂福桃園 ( Carrefour TaoYuan )

Because we love food, our last stop for our day tour is Carrefour Taoyuan (supermarket). This is not in Taichung but in TaoYuan.  Since it was on the way, we requested our tour guide if we could go to CarreFour and she brought us to Carrefour Taoyuan.

Out of the Carrefour in Taiwan, I would say this is the biggest one that we went to.  There are a lot of different stores inside and their supermarket is big.  A lot of choices if you want to buy something to bring home to your friends and family.  No pictures though because we were a bit rushed because it is almost 6pm so we had to hurry to go back to Taipei.

And there you have it.  Our Taichung Day Tour.  There are a lot of places to see in Taichung so you can still choose other places aside from those I mentioned above.
