Travel | Makati Diamond Residences

One last hurrah before summer ends.  It seems like summer is at the end of its season.  Hello, rainy season!  But before we say goodbye to summer, let us have one last vacation or staycation within the metro.  Here is one of my recommended places for that staycation before school starts, Makati Diamond Residences.

Located right in the middle of the business and shopping district, Makati Diamond Residences is perfect for both business and leisure travelers.  Especially for those who want to spend one night for a staycation.

Across the street is Greenbelt 1 where you could shop anything from convenience stores to high-end stores.  Perfect location for a staycation.

Although, you might find their lobby a bit small compared to other hotels that it may be so busy especially during check-in and check-out.  But their staff is very helpful.  You won't have a problem approaching any one of them because they will really try to help you.

We availed of their 72 sqm One Bedroom Suite.  Their rates change so it would depend on what day you chose to check-in.  The One Bedroom Suite is spacious and if you have kids, they won't feel crowded since they have some room to roam around.

Unfortunately, for some reason, we were assigned an accessible room.  We were surprised when we entered the room to find that the bathroom does not have an enclosed shower and it has railings on the side.  It would be nice if the Front Desk mentioned it since we don't really need an accessible room.

All types of One Bedroom Suite has one king-size bed.  It is big enough for 2 adults and 1 or 2 kids.

What I love about this 72 sqn One Bedroom Suite is the spacious living room and dining area.  You can just stay inside the room all day.  Because of their complete kitchen utensils, you could make your own food and it would still be spacious enough watching TV (55 inches) in the living room.

Now, you may be wondering why spend money on a staycation when you could just stay at home.  Well, at home, most of us would spend time in our own rooms with our gadgets.  At least at a hotel, you could still get the comfort of home while spending quality time with family.

Just look at all these kitchen utensils and appliances, ready for you to use.

The best part is that all the snacks in the room are free.  From the chips to the soda inside the refrigerator.  All free!!!

I almost forget, there is another best part that you won't normally see in a hotel room.  Washing Machine!!!  So if you have wet clothes, you can now dry them in the machine.  You now can save baggage weight if you are traveling.  Though if you are not familiar with using a washing machine, it might get a bit difficult to use since there are no specific instructions.  Hopefully, if Makati Diamond Residences would be able to see my review, they can add a simple instruction guide.  My sister and I had a difficult time trying to figure out the machine.

Of course, we can't forget about swimming.  They do have a kiddie pool and a lap pool for the kiddies and kiddies at heart and they also have a gym for those who still want to stay fit.

Makati Diamond Residences also offer Dining Amenities: Alfred, Baked, Pool Bar and Whiskey, and Cigar Bar.  Both Alfred and Baked are located at Ground Floor.  Sadly, we didn't get to try any of their restaurants although I heard it was good.

Overall, this is a pretty good hotel for a staycation especially their location.  The staff is all friendly.  It is raining on the day of our stay and we had to cross the street so I went to the concierge to borrow an umbrella but they have no umbrella left.  The concierge felt apologetic and we said it is okay.  We are leaving the lobby when someone returned an umbrella and the concierge quickly runs after us with the umbrella in hand.

One thing I just noticed though is that they need to be more conscious about Person With Disability (PWD) facilities.  Like the parking slot for PWD.  I noticed that the security guard let a party guest parked in it and they seem to be walking fine (with all their luxury finery - not discriminating here).  They should give the parking slot to those who are in a wheelchair or those who are on a cane and hard to walk.  Another is when they gave us the Accessible Room.  Nobody asked us if we need accessible rooms.  I understand that the hotel is fully booked so the Front Desk would need to assign rooms already but they should assign these accessible rooms at the later part of the day.  You might never know who might really need these kinds of rooms.  Because some people tend to forget to request these kinds of room when they booked.  We arrived at the time of check-in which is around 2pm.  The very least they could have done is to ask us about it.

Have you stayed at Makati Diamond Residences for staycation before?  I would love to hear your stories.  Comment below.
