Lucena City is famous for its Chami or stir-fry noodle. And what better
place to look for it other than one of the oldest restaurants in the
province, Cafe Antigua.
Ever since I was a kid, I love eating Chami or stir-fry noodles that I thought that it is already a common dish in the Philippines. I was surprised when I mentioned Chami to my officemates and they didn't know about it. I even explained it to them that it is somewhat similar to Lomi. So guys, if you are reading this, below is the picture of the Chami.
Cafe Antigua is located in the city center which is a very convenient location as it is close to the church, small stores, etc.
They offer ala carte and they also have "turo-turo" (wherein ready to eat food are in front and you just point out which one you like)
For me, there are two dishes that you must order when you go there. First is their famous Chami or stir-fry noodle and second is the Sweet and Sour Pork. You would not regret ordering these two. I love both the sauces of the Chami and Sweet and Sour Pork. The sauce is what makes them different from the other restaurants.
Other dishes that we ordered are Roast Pork Asado, Kare-kare, and Pork with Shrimp Paste
Lastly, for dessert, we ordered Leche Flan which is so good. It is very creamy and it does not taste like egg pie. Some Leche Flan that I had tasted like egg pie due to tough texture. But this, you would need to write down your name as you might forget it because it was that good (just kidding!). For those who want a creamy Leche Flan, then you would definitely need to order this.
