Since I have already given you guys tips on how to plan your trip for the Universal Studios Japan which you can check out here. I am now going to show what is in store for you at Universal Studios Japan.
Warning though, this theme park is not for the faint heart. Definitely the next level higher from Disneyland.
If you have read my previous post about Universal Studios (if you haven't check it out here), you would know that we went to Wizarding World of Harry Potter first. I was actually anticipating going to Harry Potter because of the look of the place. The pathway leading to it already feels like you are in the movie itself.
Just look at that train!!! Once inside, you would really get the feeling that you are at Hogwarts. I bet it would feel magical if it snowed.
The staff here are really friendly and they would greet you upon entering. You cannot help but be spellbound by what you see. It really feels like magic. Sooooo.... we went for our first ride in Universal Studios Japan and I would say I regretted it and did not listen to the warnings. I get dizzy easily and am afraid of fast-moving. But when I heard that they have a 4D attraction of Harry Potter, I was excited because I thought that the ride would be something like sitting in a chair as it moves while you watch the movie. But no, it really feels like you are in a rollercoaster. So for those who are afraid of those things, don't attempt to ride it.
Although I did enjoy the experience of going inside the castle because that is where the ride is located. Don't worry too much about the lines. It actually moves pretty fast. I think it is because the staff knows what to do and is fast.
If you are a die-hard Harry Potter fan, you would definitely enjoy the shops. From magic wands to clothes, they have it all. I especially liked the wands because they have a show inside the store where you are looking for a wand the matched you just like when Harry got his first wand. The wands are flying everywhere. They also do offer wands that can interact with selected places inside the Harry Potter park. Of course, you would need to purchase the wand.
Want to try the famous Butter Beer? They also have it here. Plus a restaurant so you don't hungry while enjoying the scenery and the rides.
If you are looking for a more "relaxed" ride, then you should try Jaws. It still has the thrill or excitement of being chased by a shark and you will love how the tour guide acts out the thrilling scenes. It is just like you are really being chased by sharks. You don't know where the sharks will come out.
Another ride that we tried is the Jurassic Park - The Ride. This ride is a sudden drop ride in the water. It would feel like your stomach dropped and would feel like you are standing as you fall. I would also recommend this ride for those who don't want any swirling motions.
For those who don't want to ride, you can also check out arcade games. There are a lot of arcade games in the whole studio with different types of games. Want to win a prize, try the arcade game in the Hollywood area where you will throw a ball and once the ball landed in a colored hole, you can win a prize corresponding to that color. Both my sister and I played this game once and we both won a prize.
Here are the other arcade games. Although these are pretty hard to win but still enjoyable.
Of course, we can't forget about the souvenirs. There are a lot of shops all over Universal Studios Japan that are offering cute things and delicious food. Check out some of those items below.
There are also a lot of instagrammable vies within the studio that you would have a fun time taking pictures. This is what I did while waiting for my friend and sister to go on rides. You're scared to go on rides? Take pictures instead.
This is a must-visit for those who are going to Osaka. Enjoy the rides, arcade, pictorial opportunities and just enjoy the view.
